LENOIR, N.C., by Eric Campbell — There is perhaps no team that has undergone more changes in such a short time span as HRT, and it appears this season will be no exception.

Two new drivers, a completely new car, and a new team principal in Luis Perez-Sala mean that whatever strides the team has made since its 2010 inception may be for naught.

Narain Karthikeyan returns for another season behind the wheel, and he’ll be joined by former McLaren testing stalwart Pedro de la Rosa.

LENOIR, N.C., by Eric Campbell – Marussia Virgin Racing has simply become Marussia F1 Team for the 2012 Formula One season.  Virgin will remain the team’s sponsor,  and the Virgin logos will remain on the car for the upcoming season.

Timo Glock will remain as a driver in 2012; however Jerome d’Ambrosio has been replaced by Frenchman and former GP2 driver Charles Pic.

The team had a tough season last year, as the 14th position finish by d’Ambrosio at Australia would prove to be the best finish by either driver all season.

LENOIR, N.C.,  by Eric Campbell  — Tony Fernandes’ Team Lotus outfit will be racing under the Caterham banner for 2012.  Fernandes purchased the sports car manufacturer in 2011, and subsequently put the name on his Formula One cars.  It left no doubt as to the outcome of the Lotus name rift that developed between himself and what was the former Renault team.

Caterham came out of the gate quickly in 2012, being the first constructor to display their new challenger with the radical “step nose”.  Drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli, who have both been with the team since its inception, were on hand for pre-season testing of the new car.
